Dragons are real.

The shock washes over you, slowly. You slowly come back to yourself and notice, as if for the first time, the person in front of you, sitting atop a majestic dragon. You know all about the dragon, naturally. Tale of Dragons has taught you a lot. Of course, until a few seconds ago, you had thought it was all fantasy…
You blink in the sunlight. Not long ago at all, you had been inside, on the computer, hatching your newest rare. So many incredible dragons… could they ALL be as real as the one standing in front of you?
“You can only have one,” says the figure on the dragon’s back. One dragon. That’s all? Online, you have tons. Then again, that’s a game. You’re shaken from your thoughts as the figure speaks again. “Now, come. Hurry! Usually, Mistland is only open to admins, but this is an emergency. We need everyone we can get who knows something about real dragons.”
“Wait,” you say. “I’m going where?” Your mind flashes to all the things you have to do today – (sports practice, work, school, whatever) – but this has got to be important. You don’t know the stranger on the dragon, but come on! Real dragons! Not hesitating any longer, you scramble on board the dragon’s back. No sooner do you have a grip than the rider calls out to their steed and the dragon’s wings lift. It shoots up into the sky as fast as a bullet – and then the world around you disappears.
“First, we need to get you a dragon. I needed to catch mine myself, but since we’ve had such a growth recently, you’ll just get yours from the hatchery that Silver and I built.”
Silver? Meaning… SILVER Silver? The founder of the site? … Oh.
“Wait. Who are YOU then?”
The rider doesn’t answer. It’s so dark, they may not even be there anymore. Suddenly, however, the dragon’s wings stop beating and you’re sitting in broad daylight, in front of the strangest building you’ve ever seen.
“Welcome to the hatchery on Mistland,” says the dragon rider with a slight smile. “Go right on in.” The rider then promptly flies away on their dragon into the sky until you can't see them any more.

Messenger was getting a bit overwhelmed. She couldn't remember anyone's name, there where dragons all around and she still hadn't got an answer to the question of how Mistland was in danger. She hoped someone would explain things soon. However, everyone seemed to be too busy trying to welcome her. She was, by nature, a shy girl, and all this attention was making her nervous.

"Umm.... excuse me?" she tried to get the others' attention. Dove and Vuelie seemed to be listening, but the others where seemingly to busy arguing over how to best welcome 'the new girl'. Might have at least have found out my name before fighting over me she thought huffily.

Avalon had sorted through her things quickly. There wasn't all that much more, anyways. Along with the sword, sheath, bow, arrows, quiver, antler blades, the cloth that had been covering her stuff (she had kept it, figuring it might come in handy for something) and, of course, the magic gem-marble thing, whatever she ought to call that, there were only 3 more things - a jacket made from a similar material to the cloth, but more pliable (definitely wouldn't be functional as armor - oh well), a strange rod thing with some metal and wood parts (it looked mechanical, vaguely, but she couldn't figure out for the life of her what it did), and... a saddle. Awesome. She would have to try that, though she figured that Vuelie wouldn't be yet strong (or possibly obedient) enough to carry her without some training. After tinkering with the funny rod for a couple of minutes, she noticed that it was really quiet. Being alone in anyplace is eerie, but especially in a place full of magic where you and everyone else could realistically be in danger of death at any point, and ESPECIALLY when you've gotten rather used to having a dragon around for protection and companionship, whether she would be any use in an actual battle or not. Avalon finally jumped off the bed and strapped her weapons to her (thank goodness they were really lightweight, but they would still take a whole lot of getting used to), and then walked out into the hall. She saw Reginald walk through a set of double doors. Oh good, so at least someone was around, though Reginald wouldn't have been her top pick as far as reassurance. She continued on. It then occurred to her to call Vuelie. Well, duh. She still wasn't used to having a telepathic bond with someone, apparently. Vuelie? Where are you? Are the others out there? She didn't get an answer for a couple of seconds, but then it rang through, if a bit faintly. We're pretty much all outside except a few of us. You can come out if you want. There's a new rider here named Messenger. Avalon felt a wave of relief, but also a slight twinge of guilt for not being there sooner. I'll be right out, she replied. Um, you might not want to get too close. The others are being crazy. Avalon rolled her eyes. Naturally. I'll be fine. You think you could get them all inside? It's getting dark. I'll try, but you know I can't talk to them all necessarily, she replied.

Outside, Vuelie sent out a message to anyone whose mind was open. Can we all go inside please? There are sometimes... things... out here at night. Follow me, Messenger. Then she turned to the door and started walking. Hopefully, anyone who hadn't heard her would catch on.

(shock-horror, I've been watching this from the very beginning. no need to bump)

Invi walked up to the new girl. naturally, she looked confused. but she had a rather good reason to be, and so invi looked past that fact and introduced herself. "Im invincible. welcome to the mistlands, soldier" she turned to terry. "this is Terridor". the painted thornback turned to her and opened his mouth slightly. "you call me terror, newbie" he remarked in a sinister voice. Invi considered telling the newgirl not to pay attention to him, but decided that it would be better, if not ,funnier to say nothing. Newbie would figure out quickly not to take the thornback seriously. she decided to play along with the dragons act, and stood up straight. "yes, it would be best if you respected the dragons here, you already have multiple creatures out for your blood..." invi slowly glanced at the sipitl, that snorted in annoyance at her. "...you best not add more creatures to the list". and with that, invi walked inside, making sure both terry and the sipitl were following as she began to hum a song she used to listen to.
