Dragons are real.

The shock washes over you, slowly. You slowly come back to yourself and notice, as if for the first time, the person in front of you, sitting atop a majestic dragon. You know all about the dragon, naturally. Tale of Dragons has taught you a lot. Of course, until a few seconds ago, you had thought it was all fantasy…
You blink in the sunlight. Not long ago at all, you had been inside, on the computer, hatching your newest rare. So many incredible dragons… could they ALL be as real as the one standing in front of you?
“You can only have one,” says the figure on the dragon’s back. One dragon. That’s all? Online, you have tons. Then again, that’s a game. You’re shaken from your thoughts as the figure speaks again. “Now, come. Hurry! Usually, Mistland is only open to admins, but this is an emergency. We need everyone we can get who knows something about real dragons.”
“Wait,” you say. “I’m going where?” Your mind flashes to all the things you have to do today – (sports practice, work, school, whatever) – but this has got to be important. You don’t know the stranger on the dragon, but come on! Real dragons! Not hesitating any longer, you scramble on board the dragon’s back. No sooner do you have a grip than the rider calls out to their steed and the dragon’s wings lift. It shoots up into the sky as fast as a bullet – and then the world around you disappears.
“First, we need to get you a dragon. I needed to catch mine myself, but since we’ve had such a growth recently, you’ll just get yours from the hatchery that Silver and I built.”
Silver? Meaning… SILVER Silver? The founder of the site? … Oh.
“Wait. Who are YOU then?”
The rider doesn’t answer. It’s so dark, they may not even be there anymore. Suddenly, however, the dragon’s wings stop beating and you’re sitting in broad daylight, in front of the strangest building you’ve ever seen.
“Welcome to the hatchery on Mistland,” says the dragon rider with a slight smile. “Go right on in.” The rider then promptly flies away on their dragon into the sky until you can't see them any more.

((Awesome, Avalon :D I can't wait to see them! I changed my avatar now, so it's more or less what I'd like to look like (were this an anime-RP XD). It's actually Nico Robin from One Piece manga/anime, from the Strong World movie. I couldn't find a better picture unfortunately, since there are so few out there with her in this costume, but I just had to have it - greeeeennn :D))

Skully listened to Grey's explanation and let out an exasperated sigh in his mind. That was definitely not the way to go about strengthening one's body. A good amount of exercise, healthy food habits and plenty of sleep would do way better than hurting yourself. Skully couldn't even imagine being hurt when Riv had need of his help - he would never forgive himself, would anything happen to his human whilst he was being stupid and hurting himself for no reason.

He then heard someone squeak about getting Doves, and turned just in time to see Avalon rush out the door. He quickly followed, deciding he'd seen enough of the boy's stupidity and resolved to drag Riv out of that museum no matter what.

Half-way there he came upon Terrador who was mentally shouting out: "I have information about Garry!" Skully was confused. Garry? Who was that? He stopped and shouted back to the already-retreating Thornback: Who's Garry? And what do you know?

"Ummm, OK. So, that big monster-y thing in the museum, he's called Garry. Annnnd, for some reason he's seriously hurt. But I also know for a fact thathe and the others are called silpeti's. Soooo, yeah"
. Terrador blinked at skully, than continued on walking down the hall. Along the way, he came across a bug, two stones and a bright red and orange marble, cracked on one side.he picked it up in his mouth, deciding for whatever reason that this was in fact his new marble.

((Okay, SO sorry guys, got a bit caught up in school work e.e, Well anyway, here goes, and Riku, you do realize Doves is going to Strangle you for your little stunt right? And sorry if I'm confusing you with how I work with Little One, I just couldn't keep writing as if he/she was an it, so... Little One is male-ish by english writing default :P))

Little One glared, then bit Gray's neck in retribution for tackling him, as well as not simply smacking Riku for his stupidity. "I'll be back, try to keep him there will ya?" Little One sent Gray, then ran and followed Avalon, but then stopped and leaped onto a bed near the entrance to watch the dorm room going ons. What is it?" Doves had asked. "Come down here and see for yourself." Little One replied from his new found perch of a shelf on the wall.

Doves picked up the last of her items, then turned slightly to see what Melody and Riv were up to. She noticed the Tamer's interest in Riv's bow, heck, Doves was even interested in investigating it so see how it was made. But Doves was also thinking of the creatures, and their probable need for some sort of treatment. "Tamer, you still haven't answered my question, whats the best way to move the other two? Preferably without injuring them or us. Mostly because I'm hungry, and I can feel my little one's hunger as well." Along with his worry about my crazy brother, and something about blood? Doves thought to herself. She stepped around the running dragons and the thug selpeti-wait, where did that come from?-and reached for her staff, then walked over to the small selpeti with the arrow in its rear. She reached down, her gloves on, and picked up the smallish creature attempting to inflict the least amount of pain. "Sorry little one, we'll get you patched up as soon as we can." Doves told the small selpeti. Standing up, careful not to let the selpeti touch bare skin, Doves walked back to Melody and Riv. Ready?

((And sorry if I ignored anyone's post that should have been heard by all, just so much info, and I can hardly make a coherent piece as it is ^^))

((Doves!! You're back! ^^ I was waiting for you :P))

Riv nodded. I'm ready, she sent the message to Doves. Skully had just come back into the room and quickly re-established the link between them for easy communication. She also got pictures of what was going on in the dorm, including Riku's self-inflicted wounds, and if she hadn't been too busy thinking about Melody and the ... silpeti, she would've cursed out loud right then and there. Oh well, she'd deal with it as soon as she got a free moment.

Melody flinched when the voice sounded in her head. She wasn't used to having another person talk mentally to her. In fact, her people considered it unnatural and a taboo to link your mind with another person's. The silpeti and other creatures were fine, since they weren't as intelligent as humans, but pushing yourself into the mind of another human was simply wrong. So she not only flinched but also immediately threw up walls to protect herself from the invasion. She had to stay connected to her silpeti, though, which just meant she wouldn't be able to protect herself enough from another person getting into her head.

Pushing back the urge to scream, she fought back relentlessly. Why couldn't she talk to her like a normal human being? Why did she have to do it through the mind? But then again, she'd actually never noticed the girl say anything out loud. Maybe she couldn't? Melody wasn't sure.

She watched the girl with the hat carefully pick up Icarus and grudgingly gave her a point for the extra sensitivity she was using. She also pondered about the question she'd tried to fight so hard to keep out of her head. How were they going to move Samus and the thug? She'd always just told them where to go and what to do, but they were injured now, and were obviously not going to be let out of the ropes.

After a few moments, she opened her mouth, though not wanting to give up the information, but seeing as there was no other choice... "You know I control them. I can also completely take their pain into myself for a short time. It won't kill me, but will hurt as hell. I can do that, and command them to follow us to wherever you take us. It's your choice - trust me and hope I won't give them the command to attack you, or find another way. You've been nice to me most of the time, and I don't know why. You're supposed to be the evil ones... But if you're bent on your "goodness wins" ways for some reason now, then as I said, it's your choice. I'd personally trust me. They don't have enough energy to flee, and they won't go without me. Seeing as I'll probably be screaming from pain... yeah," she ended haughtily, staring at Riv and the other girl defiantly. They probably weren't going to trust her, but it was the only thing she could do, seeing as they now had Icarus in their hands. She couldn't leave her baby.

Riv's stomach grumbled loudly. Nice answer to that tirade, Skully noted gleefully. Riv snorted, but then got back to figuring out if they could really trust Melody. What she said did make sense, and it was all logical, but what if she was lying? What do you think, can we trust her? she questioned Doves.

Doves took a moment to look at them, confusion clearly written on her face. Little ONE! Sorry, but I seem to have lost my understanding of what their saying... Doves said to her little one over their bond. All she knew about Melody's talk was that it was long, and obviously made sense by the look on Riv's face. She stood there quietly, looking as if in deep thought, but in truth, scraping for a way to connect back to Riv, just then she picked up part of Riv's question. I think we can, but let her know I'll take care of this one for now, I'd rather not risk more damage than necessary, Doves wasn't sure that Riv got it though.

There was static in the connection as Doves tried to communicate with Riv. Of course, Little One wasn't here. She should've known. Can you connect me directly to Doves without Little One's help? Riv questioned Skully. He shrugged mentally: I can try, but it's gonna be harder than through another dragon - we keep our minds open to each other and humans, but humans don't react so well to a stranger invasion. But I'll try. He concentrated on Doves again and Riv hoped that Doves would understand what she was trying to do with Skully and would let them in.

After a few moments of intense staring from all, Melody included with a slightly confused look, Riv finally felt the link settle, and had an explicit sense of being outside of her body for a short moment. It was as if she was seeing herself from Doves' point of view. Woah, her hair was a mess. She needed to get that sorted soon. She turned towards Doves and mentally said:

So sorry, I forgot you can't hear her! I really hope you don't mind Skully linking us directly, since your Little One isn't near us. Maybe the connection will grow stronger in time. Anyway, shortly what Melody said: she can make the creatures follow us if we release them, and she'll take the pain from them for that time. This'll hurt her a lot, we probably have to partly carry her all the way. Are you okay with trusting her on this?

Grey leaped up on Riku and became worried as Riku coughed softly as his eyes close, (going to call grey a he for now) he tapped Riku with his tail, but then rushed to Riv and Doves, eyes wide. His scales seem to be dark with worry Skully, I think something is wrong with Riku, I sense he is becoming ill...... he then looked around with slightly worried eyes. he then ran back to Riku's side and laid down, hoping Riku would be ok.

Avalon finally reached the museum. She hadn't quite gotten lost, but she'd still had to backtrack a couple of times. Why couldn't she have her dragon's navigational skills?, she thought to herself. She walked into the museum and up to Riv and Doves. They seemed to be really busy (Doves was holding one of those weird creature things, and Riv seemed to be concentrating on something), and she hesitated, but she maneuvered to a spot where Doves could see her and said quietly, "Um, I think you might want to come back to the dorms? Like, kinda soon? Riku's hurt again." She felt a little silly for being so timid, because someone was HURT, but she still hated interrupting people.

Vuelie, who had been sitting bored in the museum, stood up as Avalon entered and loped over to her side. She looked at Melody, who looked mildly back at her. Well, apparently she's getting used to us, thought Vuelie. That's a good sign.

Shace watched as Skully entered the room and drew attention to the fact that Riku's hand was bleeding. Avalon ran off to find Doves, since she was the one with all the healing stuff.

Shace had seen Xulca perk up when Skully was in the room and watched her sag when he left and wondered if she had a crush on the Skull Phoenix.

Shace wondered if Xulca's seeming inability to communicate telepathically was natural to her species or if it was a... problem. What if it affected her ability to find a mate? What would happen when someone in their group tried to communicate with Xulca?

What if it wasn't Xulca? What if it was her mind? This was why she shouldn't be allowed to think for too long...

((Oh thank god you guys haven't gone further. I've been distracted by cute kittie puzzles for the last days XD So sorry about that. But I'm back now. And Doves hasn't posted *facepalm* Oh well...))

Riv looked down and frowned, seeing Grey rush up to them. She didn't know what he said to Skully as he wouldn't let her hear, but it must've been something worrying from the emotions she got through their link. If only Doves would answer sooner.

Not a moment later Avalon appeared as well, and her words confirmed the dread that had slowly been spreading in Riv's chest. Throwing away all the still-lingering doubts, she turned to Melody whilst sending Doves the thought: We can't wait any longer, we have to get them out of here. Keep that little guy in your hands, I'll deal with the other two and Melody.

She then said out loud: "Avalon, I don't have time to explain now, but could you please quickly, but carefully remove the ropes around the two bigger creatures? We're gonna get them out of here and to the dorms. Once you're done, please stay with me and help me support Melody, she's gonna need it." She finished her sentence and looked Melody straight into the eyes.

"I'm taking a very big leap of faith here. I'll hold on to your bow and keep mine trained on both your ... silpeti (she still stumbled slightly with the new word) at all times. One wrong move from them and you won't have to worry about taking the pain from them anymore. You got that?"

It sounded harsh even to her, but this was a dire situation. Melody seemed to understand it, her eyes wide and scared, and nodded timidly.

How did she know what her darlings were called? Melody thought Riders only cared about their dragons and their breeds, but not about all the other beautiful and interesting creatures that were in the world. Probably one of the hatchlings sniffed it out from the thug, she thought disdainfully. The attack thugs never were too bright. Oh well. She should probably get ready for the task awaiting her. As soon as the Avalon-girl released her babies, she'd command them to follow them and take their pain into herself. Yes, she could tell them to attack, but it would only mean her death would come that much sooner. Plus, she knew Riv wouldn't fail in her shot, and she didn't want to feel them die. It would be too much for her.

Closing her eyes, she concentrated on her links to Icarus and Samus, and also felt an incling of the thug's pain from the crystals trickle into her. Her breathing slowed and inch by inch she started pulling the feelings into herself. Wincing as the waves of hurt increased in her, she commanded: "Follow me, wherever they take me. DON'T ATTACK. Move slowly and carefully. Trust me, they won't hurt you if you do what I say." Just as she'd finished, the pain started getting unbearable. Her breath hitched as she moaned out loud, and dropped to her knees.

Riv kneeled beside Melody, a concerned look on her face. She wasn't sure what to do - this was the enemy after all, but she hated seeing anyone in pain. She hesitatingly reached out her hand and touched her shoulders, careful of the crystals. Melody jumped slightly, and opened her eyes. They were filled with incredible pain and looked up to her pleadingly.

"They'll... they'll follow us wherever you take me. W-won't attack. Please hurry," she whispered, and then curled up, groaning loudly. Riv looked to Avalon. "Hurry!"
