Dragons are real.

The shock washes over you, slowly. You slowly come back to yourself and notice, as if for the first time, the person in front of you, sitting atop a majestic dragon. You know all about the dragon, naturally. Tale of Dragons has taught you a lot. Of course, until a few seconds ago, you had thought it was all fantasy…
You blink in the sunlight. Not long ago at all, you had been inside, on the computer, hatching your newest rare. So many incredible dragons… could they ALL be as real as the one standing in front of you?
“You can only have one,” says the figure on the dragon’s back. One dragon. That’s all? Online, you have tons. Then again, that’s a game. You’re shaken from your thoughts as the figure speaks again. “Now, come. Hurry! Usually, Mistland is only open to admins, but this is an emergency. We need everyone we can get who knows something about real dragons.”
“Wait,” you say. “I’m going where?” Your mind flashes to all the things you have to do today – (sports practice, work, school, whatever) – but this has got to be important. You don’t know the stranger on the dragon, but come on! Real dragons! Not hesitating any longer, you scramble on board the dragon’s back. No sooner do you have a grip than the rider calls out to their steed and the dragon’s wings lift. It shoots up into the sky as fast as a bullet – and then the world around you disappears.
“First, we need to get you a dragon. I needed to catch mine myself, but since we’ve had such a growth recently, you’ll just get yours from the hatchery that Silver and I built.”
Silver? Meaning… SILVER Silver? The founder of the site? … Oh.
“Wait. Who are YOU then?”
The rider doesn’t answer. It’s so dark, they may not even be there anymore. Suddenly, however, the dragon’s wings stop beating and you’re sitting in broad daylight, in front of the strangest building you’ve ever seen.
“Welcome to the hatchery on Mistland,” says the dragon rider with a slight smile. “Go right on in.” The rider then promptly flies away on their dragon into the sky until you can't see them any more.

Avalon scrambled out of the way as some weird bug-like thing fell from the ceiling inches from where she had been. She had been rifling through a bag that she had found looking for a wand (because apparently everyone else had one) when it smashed through. Vuelie leaped up onto Avalon's weapon table and ducked behind the bag. Avalon grabbed her sword and managed to get to her feet a couple of meters from the monster. If that thing so much as stepped on her bow...

But it didn't. It turned to look with glaring insect eyes at the door, where most of Avalon's friends were standing. Avalon would have jumped forward and attacked, but she felt completely paralyzed with fear. She was sure that unless it came toward her or until the danger was over, she wouldn't be able to move.

Meanwhile, Vuelie had crawled inside the bag and was sniffing around in the dark. She wasn't just hiding - she needed to find that box. Where was it anyway? She had expected that Avalon would have a wand. The one box she stumbled across definitely wasn't a wand, though. It was more the size for holding a wedding ring. She pulled it out anyway - it had to be SOMETHING useful. She darted across the table and back to Avalon, who was still just about frozen, eyes locked on the creature from the ceiling. Vuelie pawed at Avalon's boot, but didn't get a response. Vuelie frustratedly jumped up and down on her foot, but still nothing happened. Avalon was in her own world, panicking and trying to figure out what to do, with a million thoughts racing through her mind. Finally, Vuelie took a deep breath and called out in her mind, AVALON!

Avalon jumped. She had just heard a distinctive voice calling her name. She looked down at Vuelie, momentarily distracted. TAKE. THE. BOX. the voice said drily, and Vuelie plaintively nudged the blue box against Avalon's shoe. Avalon snatched it up and opened it. Nope, that was definitely not a wand.

(First post again! :p )

Reginald had jumped out of the way of the door as soon as the sword came through. After that, he was helpless to do much for a few seconds until the door was opened and the boy rider came through. Reginald shrank back involuntarily - he hadn't quite forgotten when he almost beat him up. Still, he directed Doves toward the healing items (though it seemed that she already knew about her bag, and probably hadn't even noticed him) and took out his book, quickly flipping through to see if there was anything useful. He had just found something when the first silpetl smashed through the ceiling. The riders all took up defensive positions (they're naturals, he thought) as the bug turned toward them. He was even more impressed when Invincible mentioned the crystals on their wings. How could she possibly know that? he thought. He had been about to say the same thing. At the same time, he noticed that she had the same accent (or at least similar) as the one who taught him English. He let himself think about that for a split-second, and then he got back to the task at hand. He was nervous, of course, but he managed to swing his pack around and take out a tiny triangular disk he had brought with him from the temple of the Eldurath. He could tell it would come in handy, because he could see several more silpeti beginning to crawl in through the hole. He tossed the disk up in the air, where it flew a lot farther that it naturally would given his arm strength. It stopped as soon as it reached the hole. Grid-like blue lines spread from it, eventually covering the whole ceiling including the hole and then extending down the walls. Well, that would keep the rest out, at least, though now there was no chance of letting the present silpetl run away, either. Oh well, they could deal with it. "Ignore the blue light bit," he called to the riders. "You're in charge of the combat."

Riku woke up to the loud noises but he coughs up a little blood but was relaxed. looked at the doctor. "sorry for almost beating you up.......you need to get braver but......maybe being too brave is........a bad thing" he chuckles a little and closes his eyes, feeling pain in his wounds. he reaches over he side and lifts grey up, gasping from the pain of the wounds, he trembled a little and he half curls. he began trembling.

After bandaging her brother up, Doves noticed the new creatures, and her eyes were wide with shock. Bloody hell, she thought grabbing her staff and dragging her brother by his shirt collar towards Reginald. Looking back she noticed Little One out cold on the table with Grey trying to wake her up. Doves stopped and propped her brother against a wall, then tossed a blanket over him to hopefully keep the creatures from noticing him. She ran back and picked up Little One and Grey. Little One quickly but sleepily curled up around Doves neck while Grey perched on her head.

Looking around Doves saw where everyone was at, along with the blue light. What the heck? She wondered mentally, unable to get anything out to the others due to Little One being asleep. Doves brought her staff infront of her, holding it in the middle, ready to push anything back that got to close to her brother and Reginald. She looked to the others across the room, and prayed they were able to knock the creatures out.

((Sorry bro, you don't play your dragon enough, don't mean to godmod, but.....))

Riv was still recovering from the shock of seeing the injured Riku coming through the door. Stupid, stupid boy. Typical male behavior. First they disappear and then they get themselves injured. Brilliant action, Riv thought sarcastically. But she didn't have much time to curse at the boy as weird thuds started.

She stared around with the two hatchlings sniffing at the air and making strange noises she couldn't identify. There was definitely something going on. When the roof dome suddenly broke and something fell down just inches from Avalon she whirled around with unimaginable speed and focused her bow and all her attention on the new threat.

Hazily she heard Invi shout to watch out for the crystals, and some blue light shoot out toeard the ceiling a second later. She somehow registered tha Reginald had finally taken some action, but her focus was too much on the insect thingie to notice anything else.

Riv knew too much hesitation could get someone else injured or even killed but she needed an opening. The insect had seemingly impenetrable scales everywhere, and with the added crystals on the wings assured those would be protected as well. So she watched carefully as the attacker moved around slowly, apparently assessing all the fighters. Riv was behind it, though, and it never saw the arrow coming. It had finally turned around enough for Riv to get a good look at an obvious soft spot where it's tail part started, and she didn't hesitate. With a quiet zing the arrow flew, deadly, straight into the flesh of the creature, piercing it almost through. It's gurgled screams were all the girl heard. She couldn't turn her gaze away from it even when silence fell. Sinking to her knees she put a shaking hand on top of Skully who tried to comfort her as best he could. This was the first time Riv had purposefully killed a creature bigger than a spider.

Shace had actually almost charged and attacked Riku before she saw his hatchling, and was glad Doves was taking care of it; she didn't handle blood well.

Xulca ran back to Shace's side, still making strange noises, which she chalked up to being relieved, at least until she heard the sound of the roof caving in behind her, and Invi screaming to "look out for the crystals!"

Whirling around she saw that thing land next to Avalon and she wondered if she could manage to close the distance and attack before it attacked its nearest target: Avalon.

Before she even started to run, though, Riv let an arrow fly and the creature collapsed with a nightmarish sound.

She had intended to slowly move forward and inspect the corpse but Xulca had other plans, darting forward recklessly, and Shace had no choice but to follow, "Xulca, wait!"

Looking at the little thingie on the floor. 'what' she thought 'one arrow to the butt and that thing is dead?....surely it must be acting or somethinaaAAAG!' she hadn't realized she was slowly walking forwards, and as a result, was right in front of it when it lifted it's head. it looked weak enough, almost dead but still the red ice on it's back remained.
it was a curious thing red ice, the opposite of water. melts when cold, evaporates when colder, solidify's when warm. anything liquid that comes in to contact with it will be converted in to the same red substance, rendering it a slow, painful and un-avoidable death for the victim. it was a wonder the little monster was even alive. did this mean it was some sort of biologically created poison? did it mean that the creature had built up some sort of resistance to the substance? urrg....to much science...
but just as Invi was done questioning science its self, something else happened.
a black blur, than the small monster was gone. swept up by....that girl over there! the first attacker was sitting on a railing on the second floor. unfortunately it was also a balcony, and only accessible through one small door behind the girl. upon her shoulder sat the same quiled monster that had accompanied her when she had attacked invi. the girl turned round and out of sight, presumably healing the wounded thingie with the red ice on it's back. but how had she got up there.... just before she walked out of sight she spotted large feathered sails attached to her black armor. winged armor.....invi gasped "I want that armor!" she said as another, waaay larger monster thing charged at her. she barely avoided it. "geez, that things the size of a horse!"

(((btw i didn't make red ice up, it's from this over websight that makes up scientific anomalies or something like that. not sure why, but it's interesting, i can find a link to it if anyone's interested)))

((Red ice sounds really awesome, other than sounding really painful indeed.

I usually don't question your posts since I kinda figure your a part-RP-leader, together in it with Avalon, or at least I assume you are since you are constantly bringing new persons/events in (that I'm assuming are really important, I mean, finding the armor and stuff is pretty important to the whole RP) and usually the RP leader does that, as much as I know. But right now something's niggling at my mind. Avalon wrote that Reginald had this blue thingie cover the whole of the museum-room kinda like a dome underneath the real ceiling, so that no more of those creatures would get in. I don't question the weird attacker girl getting in, since she might have been using magic, but I kinda figured Reginald's dome would keep those creatures away. What I'm asking is - how could another one have gotten in when there was protection against them? OR is it another kind of "monster" you mean? Another type? Something that came in through the high balcony with the girl?

I'm just asking so that I could be clear on what's happening, more or less. I don't deal too well with inconsistencies, which is why I always read the posts here at least twice and check multiple times how other people have described something/someone before continuing with my own writing. So that's why I need to be sure about that. I won't post my actual actions before you have answered/someone has explained things, because of that reason. =3))

(((from what i can tell from Avalon's post, some managed to get in before the blue thing happened. it would of taken about 10 full seconds for us to react to the bug monster things and than Reginald to search through his bag and than to throw his special magic object thing at the hole. some could of dropped down in that time, but let's just say only the huge one for now)))

((((also, i don't consider myself a RP leader, I'm just here to bring the action!))))

((Well, I hadn't meant for anything else to get in, but now that I think about it, it makes more sense. How many should we have? Two? Three?))
