What Elvyn Is
Elvyn is a video game that I plan to create as an adult (if I have any spare time whatsoever and any money to blow on employees), inspired by the utter lack of elf-based RP video games since the destruction of Xeko Island and by my trip to Europe this past summer. Basically, I plan that it will have:
~expansive, varied 3D landscapes based on real National Parks and other areas of exceptional beauty from around the world (Glenveagh, Snowdonia, Giant's Causeway (bythewaydidyouseethatinHTTYD2thatwassocoolOMG), and Gortin National Forest Park are my only ideas so far, but those are all just from two small countries!)
~customizable elf avatars, based on my personal idea of elves (closer to "Tolkien elves" than "Christmas" or "Keebler elves," but not quite the same)
~hidden "things" to find around these areas, either for practical (speed or power boosts), fashion (clothing items for your avatar, etc.), or simply collecting purposes
~lots of animals that you can befriend (DEER!) and other opportunities to use "elf powers" (plant-shaping, mostly - I might even throw in some shape-SHIFTING. Now THAT would be awesome, don't you think?)
~maybe some sort of battle-type thing, but I haven't really thought that over yet (I want there to be something more exciting about it, but I'm not sure how to accomplish that without making it violent, which I really DON'T want to do)
~2 game modes: multiplayer (with other elven players around in your particular area/park) or single player (just you and the plants and animals ^-^), and easy to change from one to the other
It would mostly be directed towards people who love nature, but can't/won't get out of their own homes to see it. Or people who just love elves and fantasy stuff, because it will have that sort of magical "twist" to it. Of course, it can't be as cool as seeing it and running around there in real life, but it's a good feeling anyway if it seems real enough (I know from experience - Jumpstart, back when I played it, and School of Dragons both have some pretty awesome interactive scenery, but Jumpstart especially doesn't have anything all too interesting to do for someone my age and is aimed towards littler kids anyway. Plus, they've only got a few really epic places, while Elvyn will have loads of them. ^^). Minecraft is pretty similar to what I'm going for, but the scenery there is a) a lot more average flatlands and deserts, and besides it's sunny most of the time, rather than the weather varying all that much, and b) it's all pixelated and blocky - it doesn't look nearly as realistic. Disney Infinity is also close, but they pay much less attention to nature. Elvyn will combine all the best aspects of those games.
Any ideas? Post them on my Questions or Comments page. :3
